The Walker Ranch Gallery is designed as a 6,000 sq. ft. building tucked into the hillside of one of Boulder, Colorado’s most popular trailheads, the Walker Ranch Loop. The proposed building is divided into an upper terrace level and a lower indoor level which contains two main programs the exhibit space and the lookout room. The main gallery entrance can be accessed by the staircase along the southern side of the building which aims to give visitors an interesting look at the facade and stunning views of the mountain range as they are invited in. The sheltered A.D.A. ramp offers direct access to the light-filled lookout room and creates a loop around the building for a smooth flow in and out of each space. Overall, the project aims to enhance an already beloved trailhead through comfortable viewing areas while providing art exhibits and information about the area.
