The Ribbon Pavilion is set out to be a 12,000 square foot space for weddings and other celebratory events on the Garrett Fields site in Louisiana. The pavilion was inspired by the ribbon as it's a common element featured in both festive and momentous occasions. The elegant form of the folding ribbon naturally developed into three different spaces including an outdoor dance patio, a semi sheltered breezeway and the indoor ballroom. The indoor ballroom is enclosed by a curtain wall system as well as a parametric skin to diffuse sunlight onto the bottom floor and mezzanine level. The curving parametric facades evokes the fluid and airy motion of ribbons falling from the sky.
